Let's see... Awesome couple, wonderful friends, Air Jordans galore, and Star Wars... mix that with the always beautiful Julia Morgan ballroom and yup, pretty much sums up what I'd call an amazing wedding!  When I first met Jason and Trang and did their esession, we kinda geeked out talking about our favorite Kevin Smith films and comparing Star Wars notes and Jason showing off his shoe collection.  So it didn't surprise me to see quite a bit of those details brought into their wedding.  Even the cake topper had little tributes to those past times!!

Jay and Melanie - St. Mark's Church, San Francisco, CA

This was a beautiful wedding held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in San Francisco. Jay and Mel were a complete a joy to be around the entire day. I couldn't tell if either of them were nervous at any point but you could definitely feel the love and emotion during the ceremony. Since their reception was in the east bay, we also took a detour to take a few portraits on Treasure Island just as the sun was setting. Gotta love that warm natural light! Great couple, great day, and a fabulous wedding!

Jo and Jason - San Francisco City Hall Civil Ceremony, San Francisco, CA

Although Jo and Jason will be celebrating their "real" wedding later this month, they opted to have a much smaller civil ceremony beforehand with just their families present at city hall. Let me just say that I LOVED photographing this day! Not having all of the fanfare such as the flowers, the toasts, and the DJ, this day really focused on quite simply, the union of two people who love each other. Don't get me wrong though, I love full blown weddings also! But the simplicity of this day was really touching for me. Starting with the anticipation of getting their "number" called to see the judge, to the enjoyment of a simple take out lunch to soak in the day, and finally to the laughter heard at their family tea ceremony, I feel truly blessed to have been there. Congrats Jo and Jason!
